Pretty water holes are found in the grounds of the venue and these water holes transport sea water under the island in an easterly direction, appearing 14days later at Melisanni Lake.

Without a doubt we believe that Katavothres is a jewel on the island of Cephalonia. Situated at the Katavothres site in between Argostoli and Fanari, the premises are stylishly subtle and cleverly blend into the scenery perfectly in keeping with the natural elements. On one level, the restaurant and internal bar are fully open to the channel of water that separates Argostoli from Lixouri.

 The owner appreciates the finer things and life and his vision with this venue was to capitilise on the needs of like minded cliental. Katavothres is quite a secretive venue with no obvious signs to guide the many passing visitors; it is a weekend haven for locals and is only popular through word of mouth. Catering at Katavothres is of the highest caliber their internationally trained team of chefs can create anything you desire, not to mention their own signature dishes which are all of Greek connotations but with a modern twist. Pastry chefs provide the most sumptuous in house desserts and cakes.

It is their Modern Athenian style culture which makes this a very unique venue.  Furnishings are contemporary yet comfortable, certainly the outside bar area in summer months is a must to take in the amazing views and enjoy the gentle breeze from the sea whilst indulging cocktails.

This venue doubles as a sophisticated night club and has a large area where you can dance the night away. Indeed for those clients that want a reception or party to carry on after midnight this is a must as many other venues in Kefalonia have a strict policy of no live/loud music after midnight.  The whole area can be arranged exclusively for your event, or for a more intimate occasion we can privitise the conservatory area which can be open plan if you prefer and has panoramic views.
